The principle of the “basal complex” protocol
Basal implantation is carried out for segmental defects of a row (from 3 units) and complete edentia.
The difference between the method lies in the installation of titanium roots in the deep parts of the facial skeleton (basal and cortical zone of the lower jaw, zygomatic bone when restoring the upper row).
Bone tissue augmentation is not required if there is a lack of bone tissue. The bone tissue in these areas is much denser and less susceptible to inflammatory changes. Due to this, primary stability of artificial roots is achieved, the risk of complications is reduced, and therefore the service life of implants and prostheses is increased.
According to the basal protocol, in the absence of all teeth in the jaw, 8-14 titanium roots are implanted.
The volume and density requirements of the alveolar ridge are minimal, but sufficient space is required to properly place the rods deep in the jaw.

Treatment planning
