Evolution of tooth size
Our distant ancestors, who lived about 100,000 years ago, had very large teeth - about twice as large as those of modern humans. This was a vital necessity. With the help of teeth it was necessary to gnaw animal bones and tear raw meat. But with the development of the brain and changes in diet, they gradually decreased. Scientists have calculated that every thousand years, 1% of their surface “gone” (although it is possible that over the past centuries this process has accelerated significantly).
The changes affected not only the overall size of the teeth, but also their purpose. The largest tooth in modern humans is the first upper molar: in the process of evolution, the main functional role has passed to it from the second upper molar. The fangs, which were no longer so important for holding food, were transformed the most.
Contraindications
List of restrictions to the procedure:
- inflammation of the gum tissue;
- the upper incisors significantly cover the lower ones;
- direct bite, which causes abrasion of the chewing surfaces of the lateral and cutting edges of the front teeth;
- chronic inflammatory disease of the pulp;
- absence of molars, which leads to uneven distribution of chewing load;
- bruxism;
- hypersensitivity to composite materials and dentin adhesives;
- deep subgingival destruction of the root part of the canine;
- tooth destruction by more than 30%;
- metal and metal-ceramic crowns on antagonist teeth;
- the patient has a pacemaker;
- extension cannot be done on milk and permanent teeth, in which the processes of root formation and tissue mineralization are not completed.
When are large teeth normal, and when are they pathological?
Large teeth in most cases are a natural phenomenon caused by genetic factors. A child may inherit elongated crowns from one parent and a small jaw from the other, causing his or her smile to appear disproportionate. Often tall people have huge teeth, and this is absolutely normal. Do not forget the fact that large molars are more common in children than in adults, since the enamel tends to wear away over the years.
When the size of the teeth does not cause any trouble, except for subjective aesthetic sensations, and does not entail displacement, torsion, retention (delayed eruption) of adjacent teeth, speech defects and other problems, we can speak of the norm. Be that as it may, only a doctor can determine the presence of pathology after examination and diagnosis. It includes radiography, tomography of the upper and lower jaw systems, taking impressions, electromyography and some other procedures.
The phenomenon in which a person has abnormally large molars is called macrodentia. It is hereditary and occurs, as a rule, due to the fusion of neighboring follicles. Macrodentia manifests itself both during the eruption of baby teeth and when they are replaced by permanent teeth, so large teeth in a preschool child are a signal to show him to the dentist.
How to determine a person's character by the shape of their teeth
For example, African Americans and Southern Chinese are much more likely to have premolars with two canals rather than one. In addition, among the Asian group, wide and long incisors are more common, and among the Slavs, the first incisors protrude lower than the second, in contrast to the same American standards of the Hollywood smile, where an absolutely even semicircle of the cutting edge of the upper teeth is adopted. However, even based on such purely national traits, people try to interpret the character traits of their interlocutor.
Incisors
A stubborn and decisive, intuitive and open person has outstanding incisors - physiognomy tells us. Risk-taking and explosive character should be suspected in those with diastema. The gap between the incisors also indicates a person’s willingness to make quick decisions, but an unwillingness to think through their consequences. The soul of the company, judging by the provisions of this “science”, is certainly with long incisors. However, he can make fun of his comrades, often quite viciously.
Fangs
Long and large fangs signal the aggressiveness of their owner. However, this association has more in common with nature than some other provisions. In addition, prominent fangs are considered a sign of a person’s love of love and his perseverance in achieving his goals. In Japan, large fangs, moreover, located outside the dentition, hint at adolescence, when the orthodontist has not yet taken up the matter. It is these associations that force Japanese women to specifically increase these teeth in order to have more success with men.
Smooth or curved
Prudence, responsibility, self-confidence and even wisdom are attributed to people with perfectly straight teeth. They are generally expected to be mathematically precise and goal-oriented.
Crooked teeth, on the contrary, reveal a person who is hot-tempered, stubborn, and also unsociable, who does not allow the possibility of mistakes both in relation to others and to himself. Even an impossible task, in which such a person believes, he will solve with persistence worthy of better use. On the other hand, those with crooked teeth are credited with excellent intuition and the ability to see a situation from all possible sides.
Small or large
Introverts, according to physiognomists, should get small teeth, and the darlings of fate should get large, dense teeth. And if the incisors are also longer than their neighbors, then wealth, fame and success will literally follow on their heels.
Jaws and character
Even a person’s ability to develop his own personality is reflected in the condition of his teeth. So, for example, it is believed that the upper teeth on the left demonstrate how well a person knows himself and knows how to use his abilities for his own benefit, and on the right they show how easy it is for a person to find his place and “take it.” The lower teeth on the left show the family relationships of their owner, and on the right they reflect his ability to analytically assess reality. Accordingly, dental diseases of the corresponding side indicate problems in one or another area of life.
Body health and dental damage
Increasingly, scientists are talking about the integrity of the entire organism and its indivisibility into individual organs. That is why damage to various parts of the human body immediately affects the condition of his teeth. Thus, liver diseases affect the condition of the fangs, especially the lower jaw. The pancreas, lungs and small intestine give distress signals through the premolars, and joint disease is manifested by the destruction of the incisors.
In addition, the incisors are “responsible” for the kidneys, bladder, and the heart and small intestine are closely connected with wisdom teeth. Such maps of organ correspondence are studied by medical specialists, so if you cannot boast of healthy teeth, we recommend that you undergo a full examination of the body and identify the root of the problem. However, no one has canceled tooth decay due to poor hygiene or ignoring preventive appointments at the dentist.
The modern scientific community does not recognize the existence of such a science as physiognomy, and yet it is sometimes interesting to notice how popular rumors regarding large or small teeth correspond to reality. Still, it should be recalled that modern dentistry can correct almost any dental situation, and careful hygiene and preventive examinations every six months will preserve a beautiful smile for many years.

Big teeth or not: how to determine?
The normal physiological size of teeth has clear boundaries. The central upper incisors, which most often seem too large to their owners, should be from 9 to 13 millimeters in length in an adult, depending on height. The lateral incisors are usually 2 millimeters shorter. As for the ratio of the width and height of the dental crown, ideally it is 1.25%, and the lower this figure, the larger the teeth are considered. However, do not panic if your parameters differ from ideal ones: macrodentia is diagnosed when the size of the teeth exceeds the norm by at least 1.5 times.
Macrodentia can be absolute or relative (individual). The absolute sum of the width of the crowns of the four upper incisors reaches 35 millimeters, and the lower ones – 27 millimeters. If this number is 1 - 2 millimeters less, then the pathology is relative.

Thursday, August 24, 2020 12:01 + to quote book THE INFLUENCE OF THOUGHTS AND ENERGIES ON OUR TEETH
“Our teeth don’t tell us anything. They tell us that HEALTH, LOVE, WEALTH, HAPPINESS are in our TEETH!” Until now, the world has been ruled by the classical concept of separation. The world, the body, all phenomena were divided into parts and studied, calling the areas under study “the science of.” But at present, the world's advanced vision has moved from a linear vision to an integral one. And this is a big step from materialism to spirituality. The human body is considered as a single whole in which everything is interconnected. This approach is developing more and more, gaining strength and experience. It is called holistic, holistic, integral. And our CHOICE is HEALING. Our Physical body and our ordinary consciousness are a kind of projection of the multidimensional Soul onto three-dimensional space. The task of integral vision: to inscribe the “flatness” of our ordinary consciousness into the multidimensional integral consciousness of our Soul! This vision is global and applicable to absolutely everything, including medicine. This kind of medicine is called Integral or Holistic (holistic comes from the English word whole and means holistic). In this optics, the doctor of medicine of the future becomes a guide - a psychologist, guiding and accompanying the patient on the path of development of his consciousness through the desire to HEAL (make WHOLE). Analyzing the patient's problem, determining the cause of the deformation, he works to transform it. It harmonizes the personality, which leads to normalization of body functions and healing of the organ. Man is a multi-level system. The physical manifested level of a person is his visible shell. The energetic subtle level is his feelings, thoughts, ideas, attitudes, which are often not even realized, being in the subconscious. This system is interconnected, self-regulating and self-healing. INTEGRAL MEDICINE views a person as a multi-level system. Illness of the physical body is understood as a manifestation, condensation of unresolved problems from the emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Body illness is only a visible part of the illness of subtle bodies that have come under the influence of negativity. And the doctor looks for the cause precisely in the unmanifested level: in the patient’s negative thoughts, feelings, emotions and attitudes. There is a NORMAL. She is one. This HEALTH is your integrity. AND DISEASE IS DEFORMATION. There are endless variations of it...! A person communicates with the outside world. And information is absorbed not only at the physical level, but also at the psychological level. Moreover, if on a visible, physical level a person does this consciously: looks for food, cooks, serves, absorbs, digests, cleanses... then on a psychological level he almost always does it automatically, unconsciously. This lack of awareness often results in consuming poor quality mental, emotional or spiritual food and not digesting information. The result is resentment, criticism, anger, hatred, disbelief, deception, etc. Only very advanced people who are aware of the need to take care of their subtle bodies (emotional, mental, spiritual) consciously prepare food for themselves, carefully choosing it, monitoring its purity - usefulness, positivity. They know that by absorbing harmful, negative thoughts, feelings, ideas, attitudes, a person pollutes himself. Then it needs cleaning. DISEASE is such CLEANING. This is the cleansing of an overly polluted subtle plane, when it becomes so “heavy” like thunderclouds that literally, like precipitation falling on the body, it frees and cleanses the sky of our psyche. Any problem unresolved on the psychological plane is projected as a disease onto the physical plane. To the organ or system that corresponds to it (the problem). For example, a person who cannot be tolerated or a situation that cannot be “digested” causes stomach pain. A mother or wife who categorically rejects the alcoholism or drug addiction of her son or husband may, in the projection, get cancer of the female organs. A person who experiences constant pressure in childhood can develop chronic asthma and bronchitis. Excessive pride will most likely lead to serious liver disease. Reluctance to see reality can provoke a sudden loss of vision. Young children, whose parents often quarrel with each other, react painfully to this through otitis media. Aggression towards the world, rejection of the world as it is, causes the gnashing of teeth and their abrasion. The cause of dental caries and obesity may be resentment and a feeling of insecurity. There are many known methods for reading information from the physical body. They are formalized into entire sciences. Iridology deals with reading information from the iris of the eyes. Auriculodiagnosis - based on the structure of the ears. Morphology - based on facial features. Palmistry - on the palms of the hands. The holistic direction also exists in dentistry. Information about the whole can be read from your TEETH! Few people can imagine that financial, social, and family well-being can depend on the presence, condition and location of a tooth!!!! In the human body, everything created by God is very important. Therefore, when I finally decided to take my teeth seriously, I began to look for a holistic dentist who would take responsibility for my teeth and, as a result, for the harmony in my life. At that time I lived in the south of France in Cannes, and I was very lucky that there was still one such specialist in the whole city. There are not many of them in France. There are only five of them in Paris. My dentist's name is Daniel Teed. I learned a lot from him. I have such a quality that when I do something, I always strive to delve into everything, to understand everything. While working on my teeth, I read several wonderful books on dentistry about the work of dentists in the optics of harmonizing personality through the harmony of the dentition and its functions. From Daniel’s lips, I learned about very interesting relationships between a person’s life and the shape and structure of his dentition, where each tooth, size, and shape of the jaw has its own meaning. I was so fascinated by this topic that I even brought my astrological research into it. At the same time, fate brought me together with another dentist who had an avant-garde vision, a number of patented discoveries and was ready to embrace everything new in dentistry. His name is Murat Nasyrov. On my recommendation, he came to France to meet Daniel. Unusually interested in his philosophy and Daniel's new technologies, he immediately underwent theoretical training with him and practical training - on my teeth! He also received a whole series of lectures on personal growth from me. The most important thing that I wanted to draw his attention to is that in holistic medicine the doctor practically becomes a COACH in the SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT of his patient. THIS IS A FUNDAMENTALLY NEW FUNCTION OF AN INTEGRAL MEDICINE DOCTOR. Look again carefully: the new function of an integral medicine worker: to help you integrate your consciousness through the desire to HEAL (make WHOLE)!!!! Working with my teeth became a collaborative process, illustrating the principles of holistic dentistry. Daniel, Murat and dental technicians took part in it. It was simply amazing and wonderful to see how our guys are keenly and deeply interested in new technologies and new philosophies. They asked me to give them a theoretical lecture, literally bombarded me with questions, and immediately implemented what was said in their work with me, as well as with other patients. We worked courageously until late at night. My time in Russia was limited. The main work was done by Vitalik Svetsky, a brilliant dental technician who instantly perceives information and immediately materializes the result at cosmic speed. Nevertheless, as I progressed, Vitalik patiently explained to me the principles and subtleties of his, one might say, jewelry business. Murat Nasyrov is the director of a dental clinic in Moscow, everything happened in his clinic. And it was fundamentally important for me to help introduce a holistic approach in our homeland. I hope that our joint book on this topic will be published soon. My smile, which you will see in the video from my birthday this year in Paris, I address to everyone, but first of all, to my dentists and technicians as a sign of great gratitude. (anecdote: an astrologer asks a beautiful woman: - Your birthday? - September 9. - What year? - Every year!) And now I will introduce you to some extremely useful information that will help you and your loved ones, and, perhaps, will save you from some irreparable actions. If Chekhov emphasized the eyes as the mirror of the soul, then in modern society a smile is no less important. Can you imagine a charming person without a charming smile? As our consciousness develops, the process of showing teeth to the enemy (!) turns into a whole science - diplomacy! Teeth, their location, shape, and quality of enamel reflect all your past experience, potential, tasks and opportunities for their implementation, and your behavior. Teeth, as a general architecture, reflect the principles of constructing the physical and spiritual body of a person, their interaction, as well as our physical, psychological and emotional experience. The upper jaw is identified with the spiritual principle. The lower jaw is the physical body. In accordance with this, the upper jaw symbolizes plans, projects, and the lower jaw - implementation. The left side of the jaw is responsible for feminine energies: internal processes, potential. The right side of the jaw is responsible for male energy: for external processes and for realization. In the principles of reading information, a dual system of interaction is observed: general and particular, parent - child, spiritual - material and a trinity system: physical plane - communication - mental plane, material - logical - spiritual, matter - emotions - thoughts, past (preceding, cause) – present (experienced) – future (subsequent, consequence). Spiritual, material and the relationship between them: OCCLUSAL PLANE. The relationship between them should be harmonious. The front teeth represent the PAST as what was developed in the past and given in this life. Upper jaw: The front teeth represent the ideal of the parental matrix: the 1st left tooth represents the mother. The 1st right tooth represents the father. The 2nd left tooth speaks of our relationship to the mother, or to the female pole, which she represents. The 2nd right tooth speaks of our relationship to the father, or to the male pole, which he represents. Lower jaw: The front teeth speak of the realization of our own pair: the 1st left tooth represents the realization of the feminine principle. The 1st right tooth represents the realization of masculinity. The 2nd left tooth is our satisfaction with the realization of our feminine pole. The 2nd right tooth is our satisfaction with the realization of our male pole. The 3rd teeth, or fangs, represent our roots and are responsible for a person’s mental and creative strength, as well as his sexuality. Middle teeth represent the REAL. These are our emotions. The 4th tooth corresponds to the planet Jupiter. This is wealth. These are expansion, development and justice. This is a social status, a social mask that determines our behavior in society. This is an opportunity and big money. The 5th tooth corresponds to the planet Venus. This is feminine. These are also values, art, everything that is beautiful and pleasant. This is love and pleasure. And it’s also a little money for pleasure. The back teeth represent the FUTURE. The future is being developed, prepared, chewed. The 6th tooth corresponds to the planet Mars. These are masculine energies. But this tooth is very important for everyone. Because on Earth we are working on the mechanical energies of Mars. The 7th tooth corresponds to the planet Mercury. The 8th tooth corresponds to the planet Neptune. Now imagine what happens if you remove the 4th tooth, which corresponds to the symbols of Jupiter: wealth, expansion, social status? Guess how this can affect your life, the life of a leader, politician, lawyer, diplomat?? Removing any tooth is CASTRATION!!!! This is castration of some vital parameter. Sometimes extremely vital. Removal or loss of upper teeth means depriving yourself of perspective and projects. Removal or loss of lower teeth means deprivation of self-realization. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE 6 TEETH in men cannot be overestimated. Removing the 6th tooth from a man means depriving him of masculine strength, initiative, belligerence, constructive action, castration. Removal of fangs is another real castration! This is depriving a person of his vitality, his roots, his psychic strength. A direct attack on his sexual energy and sex appeal. WILL YOU AFTER THIS TRUST DENTISTS and their competence? And especially when they advise with such aplomb, or even insist, to remove your tooth???!!! The tooth is removed. His place is empty. What does it mean?? The teeth grow together and the faculty is no longer there. A person has been deprived of something, but he doesn’t even suspect it!!! It turns out, somehow in Stalin’s way: Stalin said: no man, no problem. In our case: no tooth – no problem. And along with it, the carrier itself, the source of the problem: THE FUNCTION ITSELF HAS BEEN REMOVED!!!! The MOUTH, its internal space is like an architectural building, a room, a PALACE CHAMBER (the French call it palais - palace). This Palace Chamber has its own vault - a ceiling that needs to be painted with stories, plans, dreams that will inspire us. It also has floor space that needs to be furnished. The Palace Chamber - its dimensions and proportions are of great importance and significance. The area of the floor, ceiling, their proportions in relation to each other. Floor space intended for furniture - teeth. This space provides a location for EACH tooth, for its convenient location and functioning in the dentition. Each tooth must be a King in its own Kingdom, in its place, like on a throne! The Royal Chamber! And when every tooth becomes a King, then you can crown them! (that is, put crowns on them) Otherwise, we concrete the disharmony into porcelain. Forever, without the possibility of development! Function begets form. Form is a reflection, a crystallization of function. There must be a correspondence between form and function. All our disharmony is reflected in our teeth. On their inharmonious, discordant location in the dentition: displacement inward or outward, loss, tooth destruction or even its absence. If a tooth is missing, then another tooth takes its place, performing the functions of the non-existent one. For example, the 6th tooth took the place of the non-existent 5th. It turns out that Mars began to control the functions of Venus. Mars is a symbol of strength, action, struggle, masculinity. Venus is a symbol of love, charm, beauty, and femininity. Now let’s imagine how this will manifest itself in the life of a girl or a boy... Imagine that the young people just got married. all was good. And suddenly the 5th tooth is removed. Peace, love, falling in love, harmony, beauty are deprived of their physical representative in the council. These qualities are deprived of physical support - manifestation in the council of energies. It is necessary to immediately fabricate a representative of these energies and place him in his assigned place. You need to place an IMPLANT. If the upper jaw is wider than the lower jaw, then this indicates that the person has many projects, many opportunities for implementation, but the implementation itself is a problem. With a harmonious upper jaw, if the lower jaw is too large, then this gives remarkable willpower and self-confidence. With inharmonious indicators - selfishness, cruelty. Long teeth – idealism. Short teeth – materialism. Dental caries – insecurity Distance between teeth – independence. THE TEETH ARE GOING ON EACH OTHER - A collision either with themselves or with others. The teeth are directed inward - closedness. Teeth pointing outward – orientation towards the outside world. It is better to develop these parameters together with an astrologer. For example, people with the Libra sign or with dominant Libra often have straight and beautiful teeth. The OCCLUSAL plane reflects the harmony between Soul and Body, between Masculine and Feminine. Its significance in human architecture is profound and fundamental. It is like a hanger on which skin and organs are hung... Shifting its position shifts the position of the shoulder, head, etc. All this is well known to osteopathy today. A person who cares about his material realization will put a load on the lower right side when chewing. Excessive fixation will lead to the fact that he will clench his teeth and grind them at night - so great will be the power of the desire to be realized. The teeth will wear down and decay. All energies in a person must be balanced. And a harmonious person should chew equally on both sides. But people usually chew preferentially on one side. It may be useful to note that after research, it was found that people who, for example, have cancer, mostly chew on the right side, and people suffering from alcoholism and bone diseases chew on the left. Harmony is balance. Disharmony is aggression towards oneself or others. The 6th tooth symbolizes the planet Mars and the masculine principle. If it is located inward, then the action will be introverted, and the person’s aggression will mainly be directed at himself. If it is directed outside, then the action is extrovertly, and aggression will be most likely aimed at others. Removing the 6th tooth in the lower right jaw is a direct castration of male energies. If the tooth is removed, its place must be filled with an implant, authorized by the representative of those energies that removed with the tooth. Therefore, men need to pay special attention to their sixth teeth! They have their masculine dignity! Our 4 and 5 teeth are very important. They have a capital (literally!) Meaning. This is our capital of happiness. This is the present, it is our personal and public love, it is well -being, money, joy. What fills our life with values. Women need to pay special attention to their fifth teeth. They have their female happiness! My dear, take care of your teeth! Do not approach them frivolously. Do not allow them to remove them work with them so that the dentition looks harmonious! Let your smile be dazzling! https://ludmila-alexandrova.com/2011/10/integralnaya-medicina-zuby/

Problems with large teeth
Whenever we talk about a slight deviation from the norm or a slight disproportion, enlarged crowns do not entail any problems. Large front teeth are in fashion today, as they give the face a more youthful appearance, so it is not always possible to even talk about aesthetic flaws. But if we are talking about pathology, then too large teeth entail unpleasant consequences.
- Large teeth do not have enough space, which is why they can curl and extend beyond the dentition. This forms an incorrect bite and affects not only the aesthetics of the smile, but also digestion.
- A large molar in a child often causes a delay in the eruption of neighboring teeth.
- If the patient’s teeth are not large by nature, but have become so over time, this indicates gum disease. It must be cured before proceeding with the elimination of aesthetic defects.
- Teeth that are too large can distort speech.
- People with disproportionate teeth face psychological problems: they are embarrassed about their smile, try to communicate less, and feel self-conscious.
How to care for baby teeth?
When the first tooth appears, it should be regularly maintained from the very beginning. It is necessary to clean even the smallest teeth of food debris at least once a day. This can be done using a cotton swab or a special brush. It is better, of course, to carry out the procedure in the morning and evening. Regular brushing is an important measure to prevent tooth decay and maintain dental health.
Teach your child about the importance of daily hygiene rituals. Gradually get him used to the toothbrush and let him chew it while teething. When using toothpaste, you should wait until your child can spit it out and does not accidentally swallow it. You need to use special children's toothpaste.
Causes and associated symptoms
There are only two reasons why one front tooth may be longer than the other:
Tooth injury | A partial tooth fracture is easy to detect without the help of a specialist. In this case, one tooth suddenly becomes shorter, which is noticeable without special examination. At the same time, the lower (cutting) edge is uneven (zigzag, located at an angle, etc.), and its edge is very sharp. The child may complain of increased sensitivity in the “short” tooth or even pain - the severity of the symptoms depends on whether the fracture line affects the pulp or adjacent tissues. Tooth injury can occur under various circumstances - when a child tries to open a hard, hard package, during an accidental fall, etc. |
Bite disorders | Anomalies in the growth of the jaws or parts of the facial skull, improper formation of tooth buds during intrauterine development, a number of embryonic pathologies, facial injuries and other circumstances can cause malocclusion. It is generally accepted that an abnormal bite is necessarily “crossed” teeth of the upper and lower rows, a protruding lower jaw or an “overhanging” upper jaw. But the listed criteria are not an incorrectly formed bite, but its signs. These signs also include different lengths of teeth - a circumstance indicating the inability of the teeth of the upper and lower jaws to close tightly, that is, the absence of a normal bite (from the word “bite”). |
If the front tooth has become longer for this reason, this is clearly and unmistakably indicated by the contour of the gum. In case of malocclusion, the gum of the shorter tooth is “raised” higher than the neighboring one. This is easy to assess during a routine examination, and if you measure the length of both teeth - long and short - their length will be the same. This means that a short or long tooth is, in fact, of normal length, it is only raised or lowered due to improper formation of the jaw in some area, and the difference in lengths is nothing more than a visual illusion.
But teeth of different sizes are rarely the only sign of an abnormal bite. As a rule, children with such dental deformities are more prone to caries and periodontal diseases. They may also complain of headaches, increased fatigue, problems with nasal breathing and other non-dental disorders in the face or head. This is due to the fact that the dental system is part of the facial skull, and any violation of its functions leads to overstrain of the facial and chewing muscles, causes spasms of blood vessels, disruption of tissue nutrition, etc. As a result, symptoms develop that may seem unrelated to dental problems. problems.
How can fangs interfere?
Many people, for various reasons, dream of getting rid of fangs. The reason for this can be both aesthetic and more serious interference caused by teeth. Incorrect development of canines can lead to malocclusion; their too large size oppresses neighboring teeth, preventing them from developing correctly and often contributing to their crooked growth. There are frequent cases of fangs appearing on a person’s gums: in this case, they hang over the rest of the jaw, disrupting the external attractiveness of the dentition, and thereby annoying their owner.
