Instructions for use of Vinilin
Polyvinyl butyl ether is a medical product that can relieve inflammation, cleanse wounds and ulcers, and accelerate their healing. It has an enveloping effect and reduces the number of pathogens, preventing them from multiplying. Acts as a local anesthetic. Active component of the drug: polyvinox.
It is sold as a thick and viscous liquid, light yellow in color, with a strong odor. Insoluble in water, but easily mixed with ethyl ether, isoamyl and butyl alcohols, chloroform, liquid paraffin and oils. There are also capsules that contain this active ingredient. The product is produced in the Russian city of Staraya Kupavna, at the pharmaceutical enterprise OJSC Khimreaktivkomplekt Plant.
Composition and release form
The active ingredient of the drug: polyvinox, has no auxiliary components. Presented in the following forms:
- Balm. Dense liquid of pale yellow color, high percentage of active substance. Without taste, with a specific smell. The liquid does not dissolve in water, forming a film on the surface. In the open air, the balm does not thicken or dry out. Sold in dark glass bottles of 50 and 100 g.
- Liquid (for oral administration). The 20% solution is supplied in bottles, volume – 100 g.
- Liquid (for external use) in volumes of 50 and 100 g.
- Capsules. Stored in a blister, one piece contains 1.4 g of the drug.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
Polivinox relieves inflammation, promotes tissue healing and the process of tissue regeneration, and produces a local enveloping effect. Acts as an antiseptic and destroys pathogens at the site of its application through dehydration of pathogenic cells and coagulation of their protein. The antimicrobial effect manifests itself in inhibiting the growth and development of bacteria. Thanks to the complex effect of the drug, the tissue affected by necrosis gives way to healthy tissue, the wounds become clean, and the epithelium is restored.

According to the instructions, the drug is used both internally and externally. Vinylin for internal use is used in the complex treatment of diseases of the stomach, duodenum (erosion, ulcers), for the treatment of hyperacid gastritis with increased secretion and acidity, dysentery, and erosive intestinal colitis. Release form, composition and properties
Viscous light yellow drug Vinilin has a pronounced odor
The drug is supplied to the pharmacy chain in small glass bottles made of dark glass, placed in a cardboard box, and also in the form of capsules.
The container volume ranges from 50 to 100 grams. In addition to the glass bottle, the manufacturer included detailed instructions for use in each box.
The viscous light yellow preparation Vinilin has a pronounced odor, does not dry out, does not have thickening properties and cannot be dissolved in an aqueous environment.
The key component in its mass is polyvinox. Its main task is its antimicrobial property, which blocks the growth of pathogenic microorganisms.
pharmachologic effect
The composition combines well with oils of diverse groups, while the proportions can be completely different. A similar situation is with paraffin, chloroform, isoamyl alcohol, butyl alcohol, and ethyl ether.
In general, the balm has the following effects on the body:
- anti-inflammatory;
- antimicrobial;
- regenerating;
- pain reliever;
- enveloping effect.
Using the drug removes ulcers, wounds and scars. Gradually their structure becomes softer, after which the healing stage begins.
Directions for use and dosage
For external use, ointment, balm or oil solution containing Polivinox should be applied to a napkin and treated with it on the affected area. The product is taken orally 1 time per day, 5 hours after dinner. Depending on the chosen method, the dosage is as follows:
- in case of peptic ulcer: 1 teaspoon (first day), then 1 dessert spoon per day, course duration: from 17 to 20 days;
- heartburn and gastritis with increased secretion: similar dosage, but course duration: 10-12 days;
- when introducing the drug into the rectum with a rectoscope, the dosage is gradually increased to 40 ml of balm, and the course lasts from 3 to 9 days;
- for stomatitis: ulcers are treated with a cotton swab on which balm is applied. The procedure should be repeated three times a day. Afterwards, you should not drink or eat for half an hour.
Treatment of stomatitis
Inflammation of the oral mucosa is a common occurrence. The process often causes discomfort for adults and children. Dentists prescribe Vinilin for the treatment of stomatitis, since the drug kills microbes, viruses and fungi, and heals wounds. As a result, a protective film is formed on the affected mucosa, which acts as a shield, protecting wounds upon contact with food and reducing pain. Dentists prescribe the drug in the form of a solution for rinsing the mouth, and lubricate wounds with balm.
Vinilin for sore throat
Shostakovsky's balm is used to treat sore throat, but as an effective traditional medicine, it is not a drug for etiotropic or symptomatic therapy. For treatment, soak a cotton swab in the balm and lubricate the tonsils 3-4 times a day. The product can be used while taking antibiotics or other medications. Lubricate the child's throat with a moistened cotton swab a couple of times a day.
For pharyngitis
In case of inflammation of the oral mucosa, it is necessary to lubricate the back wall of the throat with the drug. It is important to combine procedures with antibiotics.
Vinylin in gynecology
Gynecologists often prescribe Vinilin to women who are diagnosed with mastitis (inflammation of the mammary gland). The product will eliminate pain and reduce inflammation. Soak the fabric in the balm and apply it to the seal. The balm is effective for the treatment of inflamed cervical mucosa (leukoplakia).
Vinyline for hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are a disease in which the veins of the rectum become thrombotic or dilated, become inflamed, or become nodular. To eliminate the resulting pain, Vinylin balm is suitable. External hemorrhoids can be treated by applying a cloth soaked in the product to the nodes that appear near the anus. To do this, it needs to be placed between the buttocks for half an hour. In this case, you need to lie on your stomach. The compress should be applied 2 to 4 times a day, taking into account the severity of the pain.
Vinyline for hemorrhoids
For external hemorrhoids, treatment is carried out in this way: a gauze napkin or a piece of bandage is generously moistened with Vinilin and applied to the painful nodes in the anal area, holding it with the buttocks for 30 minutes. This should be done while lying on your stomach. This compress is used 2-4 times a day, depending on the severity of pain and bleeding. There is another method of treatment: simply lubricate hemorrhoids with Vinyl 3-4 times a day. The course of treatment is 1-2 weeks. This treatment will help the rectal fissure heal.
For internal hemorrhoids, treatment will require a disposable syringe and a tube of suitable diameter 5-7 cm long, which should be placed on the syringe instead of a needle. You can also use a microenema. After bowel movement, inject at least 2 ml of warmed Vinilin into the rectum. The course of treatment is 2 weeks. When treated with Vinilin, a slight burning sensation may be felt. But even if a positive result is obtained, you should not interrupt the course of treatment; you need to patiently complete it to avoid relapses of the disease. At the end of the course, a 3-4-day break is recommended, then the treatment is repeated. Vinilin gives good results in the treatment of hemorrhoids in the first and second stages of the disease. In advanced stages it is less effective. To prevent exacerbation of hemorrhoids, it is enough to use Vinilin once a day for a week (preferably at night) as a lubricant, or once every two weeks as a compress.
Vinyline for children
The medication is not suitable for internal use in pediatrics. The doctor can prescribe medication to combat childhood stomatitis and accurately indicate the dosage of the drug. Before carrying out the procedure, an adult needs to thoroughly wash their hand, take a clean gauze cloth, moisten it in Vinilin and apply a thin layer of the drug to disease-prone areas in the child’s mouth. The procedure should be done 2 hours after eating, repeated 3-4 times a day until the ulcers completely disappear.
If after 5 days (at most a week) there is no improvement or the child demonstrates an allergic reaction, the use of the drug should be stopped and a specialist should be consulted. You cannot use the product if you have liver, kidney or gall bladder disease, or if your child is allergic to certain medications.
